Kate’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Delight
I had been craving brownies for awhile, and I had mix and oil and eggs. I decided I’d pick up some chips to put in them while I was at the grocery store. I decided on some peanut butter and chocolate chip swirl ones. What happened was utterly unbelievable. The recipe is as follows:
- Use whatever brownie mix you like. I happened to use Giardelli (sp?), because that’s what I had. Prepare the brownies as directed on the package. (I can make brownies completely from scratch… but I wasn’t in the mood to get into that!)
- Add chips to the batter.
- Spread evenly into the pan.
- Add another handful (or so) to the top of the brownies (save some chips on the side that do not go in the brownies)
- Cook as directed
- Remove from oven and spread the remaining chips on top of the hot brownies and let cool for about 20 minutes.
- Spread the now melted chips over the top of the brownies. This creates a peanut butter-chocolatey glaze/frosting.
- Enjoy with milk or vanilla ice cream.
These are stupendous. The chips inside the brownies are great, and the glaze/frosting on top made from the melted chips is outstanding. Next time I’m going to try it with just peanut butter chips
