Some Lovely Things

I had my first ever classroom observation on Monday.  I was pretty nervous about it, especially considering the class I had wanted my principal to observe me in ended up not working out.   She ended up observing me in a room that had a sub, so that was added nerves.

But the lesson went just as I’d planned it.  I had to wait until yesterday to meet with my boss regarding her thoughts on the lesson, but it was worth waiting for.  The whole thing was praise.  She thought I related well with the kids, that my lesson was well thought out, prepared, and delivered.  It was just a very positive experience.  It definitely puts me at ease for the next time I get observed.  Jake took me out to dinner last night to celebrate my wonderful evaluation, which was incredibly sweet of him.

Another nice thing recently was getting a package of school photos in my mailbox.  Apparently this district pays for teachers to get the basic package.  Usually I wouldn’t be too excited about this, because I hate having my picture taken.  This time, though, I’m really pleased with the photo.

The nifty thing is that I’d totally forgotten it was picture day, but I had straightened my hair that morning and I wore red.  That worked out for the best!

I leave in a little while for Greensboro to attend the NCSCA Annual Conference.  I went last year and learned so much.  I also had a fantastic time, so I’m really hoping that this year is just the same.  There are always so many people with such great ideas, not to mention the vendors that have fantastic so many materials I can use in my position.

It’s been a good week and a half or so, and the rest of this week is shaping up to be just as lovely.

Excellent picture! Good Job on the evaluation. Really though, was there ever any doubt that you wouldn’t do well? :)

Yeah to my beautiful daughter. Things are going well, just like SOMEBODY TOLD YOU THEY WOULD. I WON’T tell you I told you so, but……Your picture is beautiful. It sits in the place of honor at work with all the rest of the photos of my kids. Have a great time at the conference. Drive carefully.
    Love and miss you both.
