Green Thumb

Today I decided to finally go to L*owes and buy some plants for the front of the house. Jake had planted some tomatoes and corn earlier this morning, and it got me motivated to do some planting of my own. I got three hydrangea bushes and two lily plants to start with.

These roses are on the left side of the house (as you face it)… we didn’t plant these, but I love them.

Just the hydrangeas

We got a nice soaking rain soon after planting, and they’re looking beautiful. Let’s see if I can keep them alive!

Do you know what color your hydrangeas are? We got a bush of hydrangea this year… ours is pink and doing beautifully…! We also got a bunch of feathered celosia (http://www.fowlersnursery.com/_ccLib/image/plants/DETA-157.jpg) and they’re doing REALLY well… it’s the best plant we’ve gotten because they do really well in direct sunlight and high heat/humidity… I’m proud of myself for keeping them alive so far (I’m the one that waters all the plants in the front… and they’ve grown about 2 inches, too!!!)

We had a really really awesome lilac bush blooming next to our driveway, and it smelled fantastic. It was noticeable the second you walked outside, it was so strong. Now it appears to be dying out… It’s getting all brown and gross.

Bushes are wild, shrubs are planted :D

Hahahaha, we say that all the time here in the office. I love hydrangea. Can’t wait to see the pictures when they are in full bloom.
