Merlin Monday #19: Standing on Your Chest Edition

Merlin is absolutely opposed to my snuggling up to Jake.  His typical response to this is to climb up and stand on my chest, or lay on my chest until I get sick of it and move.  It doesn’t typically take long.

He will also lick me excessively to show me that he loves me… but the ultimate message is that I need to get the hell out of his way.

Not going to lie, there could be some bruises on my chest to day from a 82lb idiot standing on it and driving his bony little elbows into it.  I do love him though.

My cat Mozart is about 12 pounds now (she packed on the weight after she was fixed in December… she only weighed about 7 pounds when she had her surgery!) Anyhow, I know she doesn’t weigh much… but when she jumps from the desk to my bed… and lands on my side with all her body weight… well, JEEZ… it’s kind of like having a bowling ball thrown on me! In the morning when she wants me to wake up, she will stand on my chest (this is especially painful once a month!)… and will “knead” until I get the message that she will continue to cause me pain until I wake up! lol Animals are SO funny when they pop their personalities into full force!

Its good to know that all of our animals are quite crazy! Beaner won’t let me get close to Kristie. He actually spoons up to her chest and stretches his paws all the way out to keep me a fair enough distance away!

And Cooper is another story. There’s nothing like waking up to a 20lb fur ball on your chest and stomach. And once he realizes I’m awake he pesters me to pet him…because what else do I want to do at 3 am?!?!?!?!?!?!?

But what would we do with out them!
