Progress Finally

The last few riding lessons I’ve felt kind of… blah.  It’s such a struggle to get muscles back where they once were, especially when you’re still carrying around 35 extra pounds.  It’s even harder when you haven’t ridden in as long as I haven’t.  It’s been frustrating because I know what I’m supposed to be doing, how I’m supposed to be riding… I just haven’t been able to make my body do it.

Tonight is the first night that I’ve felt like I’m getting back to where I want to be.  And that felt amazing.

Disney June 23rd

On Tuesday we went as a group to Animal Kingdom.  It wasn’t quite as hot and humid, so it ended up being a really great day.  In fact most of us stayed in the park the whole day because we also ate dinner there!

Disney June 22nd

We went back to Magic Kingdom on Monday.  We had a mission in mind: find Chip and Dale.  They were incredibly elusive my last trip to the park, and I wanted to be sure to get pictures with them if we could.  We did some other things as we made our way to Toon Town.  We rode the Mad Hatter’s teacups!

Disney June 21st

We were up early on our first full day in Disney, even after being up late Saturday night at dinner.  We had decided to go to Magic Kingdom on our first day.  We were there right as the park opened, so we got to see the Mayor of Disney open the park.  It was incredibly fun; all the characters came in on the train and they sang.  Then the gates were open.  If you’ve never been to Magic Kingdom, there’s no way to describe what happens to you when you walk in and see Main Street USA.  It is… Magical.  You are instantly turned into a child that wants nothing more than to run around exploring and finding your favorite characters.  The sight of Cinderella’s Castle down the street is absolutely awe inspiring.

Safe and Sound

There’s far too much to say about the trip to Disney right now.  It was absolutely amazing, but I’m glad to be home.
I’ll probably do a post about every day we were there; I didn’t have access to the internet while I was there, so it’ll take me a bit to catch up with things.
