T-shirt Quilt: Plea Answered
Awhile back I was playing around on Pinterest and I found a tutorial for a T-shirt quilt. I was immediately enamored with the idea; I have so many t-shirts that all bring back amazing memories of a time or place… but they’re taking up space in drawers and many of them haven’t been worn in forever. So this t-shirt quilt idea was appealing, minus the fact that I cannot sew. At all. Hrm.
Fast forward to last night. For some reason I was thinking about that t-shirt quilt. I posted on face*book that if anyone knew how to sew and would be interested in helping me create this, I’d love to hear from them. I was somewhat surprised when one of the girls I’ve met through barrel racing said that her Mom sews and would be able to help out. Then a good friend sent me a message and said that if that didn’t work out she would be able to do it!
I’m really somewhat foolishly excited about this. I went through my drawers last night and cleaned out 40 t-shirts that I haven’t worn in years but are special to me. I have a couple more long sleeved cotton shirts that fall into the same category. I would love to have a big quilt made of all of these, and now I have two people who are willing to help me!
Hopefully I’ll have a really fun quilt that reminds me of some amazing times in my life soon enough.

I’m really excited Mom.
The space it’s going to save in my drawers coupled with the fact that I’ll have such an awesome keepsake is really awesome.

I am hoping to do something like this with the various shirts that I have. I can see it being broken up into possibly 2 or more quilts though – college shirts, shirts from working at caz, race shirts, etc…I have boxed up a number of shirts that are for that reason alone!!! can’t wait to see pics of when it is done!!!
