Fadedwords

Well, I made a decision today…

I decided to create a blog that is solely about my journey through losing this weight.  I thought about it and realized I needed a place to write about this without turning this blog into a weight loss blog.  So with the help of Jake and my good friend Monica, I have a new subdomain here on Fadedwords.  Monica did a great job tweaking the header, and Jake got everything else up and ready to go.  They are my technological advisers and I love them.

Shrinking Me will be where I share my successes, my struggles, and everything else that deals with my weight loss.  I know several of my current readers are working on some weight loss goals, and I’d love for you to visit and share your own struggles and successes, as well as tips with me and anyone else who reads.

I’m always after my friend Drew to blog more.  His response is, “I’m too lazy.” The other day we were chatting and he said he should just start dictating posts to me and I could write them.  I said I would, “for a price.” Eventually the settled upon price came to be 10 posts for 1 Build-a-Bear.  I love Build-a-Bears.  I realize this isn’t a very traditional form of payment, but I’ll take it.

Soooooo, go visit Andrew’s blog and read his article about struggling NFL players.  He spoke it, and I wrote and polished it. 

I had planned on writing something different this morning.  I was all set to say what a long week it’s been, how stressed I am about lawyers and spine specialists and how much my back hurts.  Then I was reading some of my blogroll favorites, and got to So The Fish Said, and my plan changed.

I’m not going to say much, other than tell you to go and read about Emily.  (updated: here).   My heart breaks for this little girl’s family, and for her. 

And instead of feeling stressed and ticked off that my life isn’t perfect right now, I’m just thankful that it’s as wonderful as it is.

There are many blogs that I enjoy reading, all for different reasons. One common theme amongst all members of my blogroll is that they’re gifted writers that have drawn me in through their words.

One such blogger was Jada.

I found her through reading The Bunny. I enjoyed reading Jada’s stories, even when I didn’t agree with her opinions on a subject. She had a powerful voice that resonated with me.

Today I read on her blog that she is moving on to greener pastures. I am happy for her that she is pressing forward, but I am sad to see her go. I will miss her honesty, her willingness to share herself so openly and her depth of emotion.
